Power Plants Under Risk of Fire

 1- WIND ENERGY PLANTS

The regions of wind energy plants are located in places where geographical conditions are very extreme, necessary measures should be taken by determining the level of the risks in order to   protect both their own facilities and not to encounter with high compensations in investments made.

These risks can be summarized shortly in the shape of damage to the wind power plant as   a result of the forest burning due to an external reason or a fire in the forest areas because of a reason arising from the wind power plant.
After the hazard of fire around the plant is graded; the risk prevention and active defense strategy can be planned by using model in order to manage and minimise the risks with high   probability of occurrence in the region.

The fire hazard in which wind power plants are active and passive is at a level that cannot be underestimated. Due to the forest existence around the wind power plant, it creates a double-sided risk. This risk can be briefly summarized as the damage to the wind power plant as a result of the forest burning (for a reason other than the WPP) or a fire in the forest areas due to a reason caused by the wind power plant.

After the fire hazard rating in the vicinity of the power plant, a risk prevention and active defense strategy can be planned by using the software developed to manage possible risks in the area and to minimize them as much as possible.

As a result, it is necessary to determine the level of these risks and create a will to take the necessary measures in order to protect their own facilities and not to face high compensations in the investments made.
